Editorial Photography and Portfolio Development
This course is designed for students who are comfortable with both camera operation and basic studio lighting, and are ready to develop a more intentional photographic practice.
The focus shifts from technical execution to image-making as a process, including concept, direction, and consistency across a body of work.

Course Structure
1. Concept Development
Introduction to building a visual idea: references, mood, and intention.
How to approach a shoot with direction rather than improvisation.
2. Shoot Planning and Direction
Working with subject, styling, and space.
Communication and basic directing techniques.
3. Studio Shoot Sessions
Students execute guided shoots in the studio, applying lighting and direction to produce a cohesive set of images.
4. Editing and Image Selection
How to review, select, and refine images into a consistent series.
Introduction to a basic editing workflow.
5. Review and Critique
Group discussion of student work, focusing on clarity, consistency, and development of a visual approach.

Requirements
Participants should be comfortable shooting in manual mode and ave experience working with basic studio lighting
Outcome
Students will leave with a small but cohesive body of work and a clearer understanding of how to approach photography as a structured and intentional practice.
