Once a month, an artist—or a small group of peers—is invited to occupy the studio for a single day, free of charge. The day is dedicated to working on personal projects, testing ideas, or simply thinking in the presence of others. While the residency is photography-led, projects may also explore interdisciplinary approaches and collaborations. There is no expectation of production, exhibition, or outcome.
Inspired by communal study models such as the Werkstatt für Photographie (Berlin, 1976–1986), the residency emphasizes attention, conversation, and shared presence. The White Loft may share subtle traces of the day—not as documentation, but as sparks of inspiration and signals of ongoing studio practice.
In a culture defined by speed and visibility, the One Day Residency offers a rare pause: a single day devoted entirely to creative freedom.
